Today we are looking at the Metal Work gallery. In the gallery description Metal Work is described as "Metal work involving the use of heat, including all blades, such as knives, swords, cutlery, etc. blacksmithing; and any kind of metal forming without the use of heat, which would include repousse/chasing/embossing and engraving; also chain mail and armor."

Forging is a process of shaping metal by applying localized force, for example with a heavy hammer. Traditionally forging is done by a metal smith with a hammer and anvil. Modern forging is often done with the help of machinery, but there are still some artisans who use the traditional methods, sometimes with the help of modern tools.

S stands for Stained Glass
Stained glass is a method of using colored glass (opaque or transparent colors) to create a glass panel. The colored glass is cut into pieces following a pattern, they are then pasted together either by the lead came method (traditional) or the tiffany foil method (modern).
S stands for Scrimshaw
Scrimshaw is the name for artwork created from the by-products of whaling and harvesting other mammals that live in the ocean. It is most commonly made out of the bones and teeth of sperm whales, the baleen of other whales, and the tusks of walruses.
