This illustration of The Peacock (aka Pride of Hera) looks absolutely incredible!

First of all, I really love how you did the design of the kimono outfit that she's wearing as well as the texture patterns on it. It's really colourful this way, especially from the way how the kimono flows down her body. The peacock feathers on the back of her came out incredibly good too, because of the colourful design on the back of it. You did such a outstanding job on her beautiful hair and the blueish bead on the bottom part of it. I also like how you did the skin tone on her as well as her facial features. The posing and anatomical proportions came out really incredible.

Secondly, the design of the katana sword is really brilliant and I like how you did part of the rope on the bottom of the katana sword itself. In the rest of the illustration, most notably the scenery, you did such a outstanding job on the trees as well as the green leaves on the top of it. The grass field as well as the dirt gravel road and the red temple looks very good.

In all, you have worked so hard on how well you did this painting. All of your works are really awesome! Keep it up!

I'll be honest, when I saw this pop up in my deviations list the first thing that came to my mind was "Holy freaking cow!".

I'm absolutely in love with this piece. The colour combination, the pose, the background and that subtle smile on her face make this piece completely stunning . Everything flows together nicely, making it a pleasure for the eyes <3

However, there are still things you could work on a little more.

What made me start writing this critique in the first place were the trees, and the sudden lack of detail in the furthest ones. I can understand why you did it but I still believe you should have lowered the detail amount gradually so it would look more natural. For this you could use the same brush you used on the leaves to make the contour of the trees instead of using a round brush, then you can lessen the detail in them gradually with the same leaves brush, the further to the viewer the less detail in them. Maybe adding some gaussian blur could also help you get that distance feeling .

The trees. Although the leaves look fantastic and there's a great sense of volume in them, I don't really think such thin trees with even thiner branches could handle that huge amount of leaves. It would be absolutely beautiful if you could thicken the trees some more and detail them, they kind of look transparent.

And, finally, the road. When I look at this piece I get a feeling that the building in the back is not as far as it should be. This is mainly caused by the road. If you look carefully you'll see that the width of the place where she's standing is almost the same as where the building is, making it look extremely small. I would recommend either widening the ground under her or lessening considerably the width of the road as it merges into the background.

That's all. Even though there are quite alot of things to improve I still believe this is the best piece you've ever done and I'm really amazed by how wonderful this looks <3 I adore the design of the kimono and her beautiful eyes.
